Prior to founding KJSM Ventures, Ken spent 30 years in the oil and gas sector. He worked for major and junior companies both locally and internationally before stepping out to build his own. Ken successfully founded, operated, and sold four junior oil and gas companies between 1995 and 2012. Upon the sale of his fourth, Ken turned his focus to investing and portfolio management, where he has spent the last decade investing in alternatives, private tech companies, public energy, and real estate through KJSM Ventures. In 2022, Ken co-founded Nex Gen VC Partners alongside his son Scott. Ken is a hands-on investor and brings his extensive operational knowledge, corporate governance, capital-raising, and sale process experience to the fund's portfolio companies.

As founder and managing partner of Nex Gen VC Partners and co-founder of KJSM Ventures, Scott brings hands-on expertise in capital deployment, business advisory, fundraising, and board governance. Since focusing on innovative tech and venture capital, he has built a track record of investing in high-growth companies that have scaled profitably, gone public, or been successfully sold.

Michelle has a background spanning engineering, wealth management, and venture capital at both growth and early-stage funds with offices in Vancouver, Toronto, and New York. She brings deep experience in sourcing, evaluating, and executing venture investments, as well as other alternative investments through over a decade of personal portfolio management. Michelle joined KJSM Ventures to spearhead the expansion of its portfolio — beginning with its commercial real estate portfolio — and to support the company's expanding operational needs.
